ENERGY STARŪ is a joint green program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the U.S. Department of Energy, and the Canadian National Resource Council that helps consumers identify the most energy-efficient products on the market.
Energy efficient choices can save families about a third on their energy bill with similar savings of greenhouse gas emissions, without sacrificing features, style or comfort.
How Does It Work?
North America has been divided into several climate zones. The climate zones for which a window, door or skylight is ENERGY STARŪ qualified will be shown on a label or on its sales literature. Simply choose a product model that is qualified for the climate zone that you live in.
